U.S. Extended Cold Weather Suit (ECWCS)
U.S. Extended Cold Weather Suit (ECWCS) is 100% Waterproof and Breathable, NOW available in Woodland, Black or Olive Green.
When used in combination with other layers in the ECWCS system, this waterproof and breathable suit will provide protection between 40°F
and -40°F (44° - 51° Celsius).
Currently being worn by the United States Marines, Special Forces, Army and Air Force soldiers stationed
in the most extreme environments - from Norway and Bosnia to Afghanistan.
Features: The outer garments of this system feature a parka and trousers. The parka has two hand warming/cargo pockets, two side access breast pockets, two upper sleeve pockets, and a hood with full visor protection. It also features water shedding slide fasteners and zippered armpit vents. The trousers feature suspender attachments, belt loops, two side leg cargo pockets, and knee high zippers for easy donning and doffing while wearing boots. The material is a tri-laminate using a waterproof, vapour permeable membrane laminated between two nylon knits. The garments are windproof, waterproof and breathable.
Vapour Transmission Layer:
This “sweat transfer layer,” soaks up your body moisture and draws it away from your body to keep it dry. Significant progress has been
made with such synthetics as polypropylene,
which draws water away from the body, and helps to keep the body dry.
